A partir del 31 de mayo de 2014, el matchmaking en línea dejará de funcionar para Mortal Kombat debido a la retirada por parte de GameSpy de su infraestructura y soporte en línea para una serie de juegos. WB Games ha valorado diversas opciones de migración y ha discutido todas las opciones con el equipo de ingeniería de NetherRealm Studios.
